Paris, France - July 2012

Paris, Paris. It is so beautiful.

We caught the ferry from Dover to Calais then the bus on to Paris. It was a long day. When we got there we went for dinner at a restaurant. I ate a snail :O

We stayed at a hotel a bit out of the centre of Paris, so in the morning caught the metro in to explore the city. Ruth and I headed for the Louvre first but got there before it opened so went looking for breakfast. We came across a cafe close to the Louvre and had our first crossaints in France. They really are amazing. We had one chocolate crossaint and one plain each, with a coffee.

We then went to the Louvre and hopped in the line. It opened at 9 and the line went quickly. We went straight to the Mona Lisa and had a pic with her before the crowds got there. The Louvre is pretty amazing. So much art work in there it would take forever to look at everything. We spent about 2 hours looking around and then headed out to explore the rest of Paris.

We didnt get far before we came to our next French food stop- Crepes! Delicious banana and nutella crepes freshly made before our eyes. Yum.

We walked down the main shopping street. Champ De Elise towards the Arc De Triumphe. After looking around that we wandered back to the Eiffel Tower.

I went on a fat tyre bike tour which went for 3 hours riding around the sites of Paris. I would definitely recommend it. Only downside was the rain.

For dinner we had a picnic under the eiffel tower with the topdeck group. Then off we went to a cabaret show which was pretty cool, traditional style show.
